These two guys are absolute heroes.

The turban is an important symbol for Sikh people, and it takes a lot for a man to remove it.

But when it came down to it, Inderpal Singh and Kanwaljit Singh didn’t think twice about using theirs to save eight boys from drowning.

A crowd of people had been immersing an idol of Ganesha in a canal in Sangrur, in the northern Indian state of Punjab, as part of a religious festival.

But five young boys lost their footing and were swept into the water. Three other young men jumped in to try and save them, but they also got caught in the fast current.

Man beaten to death with bricks by Delhi mob ‘over rumours he ate beef’

A mob reportedly descended on the house of Mohammad Ikhlaq (Picture: NDTV)

A man was beaten to death with bricks by a mob on the outskirts of Delhi allegedly following rumours that he had eaten beef.

An announcement was allegedly made at a temple on Monday that a calf had been slaughtered and its body had been found near a transformer. Cow-killing is historically a taboo subject in India because the animal is sacred in Hinduism, which is the dominant religion in the country. In some states, such as Uttar Pradesh, where the alleged incident took place, killing cows is illegal.

Following the alleged announcement, during which no names were given, an angry mob reportedly set out in search of… Read the full story

We all need a place to stay while we are waiting for our acceptance letter to Hogwarts, and this spot is perfect.

If you want to have the ‘boy who lived’ experience you might want to move into this charming little room.

This mattress in what looks like a cupboard (you can actually see the coats hanging up on the wall) was advertised for £500 a month (plus £60 bills) in Clapham, south London.

The advert says the room comes with a ‘bed’, and that the other flatmates are ‘not really looking for somebody that just wants to stay in their room’.

But all does not appear to be as it seems… it’s strange that the advert itself doesn’t have any pictures of the… Read the full story

A couple have admitted to the kidnapping, torture and rape of a woman whose boyfriend purportedly owed them money.

Ronald Ford and Shavontae Green drove to the house of the victim’s boyfriend, who they claimed had not paid them the right amount for a laptop computer. When they arrived, they instead found the 38-year-old victim, who they beat and then kidnapped.

Back at their home they beat the woman more, forced her to perform a sex act on Ford, burned her with a cigarette butt, whipped her with a chain and sodomised her with a table leg broken off a table. They also poured boiling water over her shoulder and chest and bleached her genitals.

The couple were arrested… Read the full story
