We found snow in Les Arcs, but other resorts haven’t been so lucky (Picture: Metro)

We reach the summit of a long, windy trek through the French Alps to be met with a disheartening scene.

Any ski or snowboard fanatics will know it’s been a dismal start to the Europe 2015/16 winter season. The last substantial snowfall was on November 25, and the next forecasted dump wasn’t until December 29.

‘Don’t worry, we’ll make it snow for you,’ falsely-promised Saife, a Gentil Organisateur (G.O), who had instantly won our… Read the full story

FBI thwart ISIS plan to attack New York restaurant with machetes

| blog, L&B World, World | December 31, 2015

A 25-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly planning to attack a restaurant in Rochester, New York, on New Year’s Eve.

The man has been charged with attempting to provide material support to Islamic State, the US Justice Department said on Thursday.

It is believed he had planned use machetes in the attack.

‘The FBI thwarted Emanuel Lutchman’s intent to kill civilians on New Year’s Eve,’ a Justice Department statement quoted FBI Special Agent in Charge Adam S. Cohen as saying.

‘The FBI remains concerned about people overseas who use the Internet to inspire people in the United States to commit acts of violence where they live.’
