A mother has been jailed for the rape of her 12-year-old daughter.

Jeanie Mae Carpenter, from Ohio, plead guilty to helping her convicted sex offender boyfriend James John Kirksey rape the girl.

A court in Belmont heard that she held down the child as the 32-year-old raped the girl on multiple occasions.

It was unclear how long the abuse lasted.

Prosecutor Dan Dry said: ‘She reported it to a relative that mom’s boyfriend had been abusing her for the last two weeks.

Injured dog getting first aid from a soldier is the cutest thing you’ll see all day

Heartwarming footage has emerged showing Peshmerga soldiers in Kurdistan giving first aid to a seriously injured dog.

The animal, believed to be a working army dog, appears to have been hit by a landmine left by ISIS in Iraq.

The caring soldiers can be seen holding the dog down while one tries to bandage the dog’s paw as it wails out in agony.

It immediately springs up and looks at its paw while trying to move forward.

Sports Direct boss Mike Ashley pledges £10m to pay staff above minimum wage

Sports Direct has promised to spend £10m to raise the pay of all staff above the minimum wage.

Founder Mike Ashley, who is the owner of Newcastle United, also said he wants the company to be ‘the best high street retail employer after John Lewis’.

Making the announcement in the Daily Mirror on Wednesday, Ashley said: ‘I realise this is ambitious and it won’t be easy but I believe as a FTSE 100 or even 250 company we have a responsibility to set a high moral standard.’
