Police say a 24-year-old man tried to scale the facade of New York’s famed Four Seasons Hotel and plunged nine stories to his death.

The NYPD says Connor Cummings, of Rockaway, New Jersey, tried to climb a scaffold on the outside of the 42-storey hotel at about 11.15pm yesterday.

He fell to one of the lower rooftops of the structure and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say Cummings was apparently not a guest at the hotel.

Republicans made pictures of Obama darker during campaign material in the presidential election
Republicans made pictures of Obama darker during campaign material used in the presidential election

A study has shown that negative adverts about Barack Obama showed him with darker skin than he actually has.

The images, published in the run up to the 2008 presidential election, would have apparently appealed to some viewers’ racial biases.

The report backs up a theory that some Republican politicians seek to win votes using certain voters’ racist views, without voicing those prejudices explicitly.

Girl goes commando on fairground ride, flashes EVERYONE

| blog, L&B World, World | December 31, 2015

Never go commando at a funfair.

Why? Well, you might find yourself in this poor girl’s position.

Footage caught on a mobile phone shows the moment the girl’s trousers started lowering as she struggled to cling on to a particularly vigorous ride.

Not only that, but she wasn’t wearing any knickers.

Her boyfriend desperately tried to protect her modesty as they bounced around the La Tagada ride at Costa Rica’s Zapote Festival but to no avail.

Around them hundreds of spectators could be heard cheering, while the dirty pervert guy sitting next to them seemed to cop a good… Read the full story

Someone found the drunk naked guy who casually did walk of shame covered only by a newspaper

| blog, L&B World, News | December 31, 2015

If you’re doing the walk of shame, the last thing you want is people recognising you. Not if you’re this guy though. He couldn’t care less.

The naked Reading man, who has been identified as 20-year-old Matt Hill, was spotted taking a casual stroll through a housing estate covered only by a piece of newspaper.

Deliverymen Tony Marsh and Chris Moorby saw him and scrambled to take a quick video of the man, who responded with a grin.

Matt, who is from Earley, says he ‘had a few too many drinks’ following a school reunion.

‘I was walking home with a couple of my mates and they pushed me in a puddle.

There is still a pretty strong dislike of America in Iran.

Dozens of extreme anti-American artworks are still emblazoned across buildings in Tehran, despite a nuclear deal being reached with President Obama in July this year.

Under the deal, Iran has agreed to reduce its amount of low-enriched uranium in the country, as well as centrifuges and cut plutonium production. The International Atomic Energy Agency will decide when the deal has been fulfilled.

Many of the murals are… Read the full story

BBC websites WERE taken down by cyber attack

| blog, L&B World, News | December 31, 2015

A technical issue that knocked all the BBC’s websites offline was the result of a cyber attack, the corporation has reported.

Visitors to sites including the BBC News website and the iPlayer service on Thursday morning were greeted with an error message as pages failed to load.

An earlier statement put the fault down to a ‘technical issue’, but the BBC later reported that a web attack was behind the outage.

According to BBC News, sources inside the corporation said a distributed denial of service (DDoS) attack, which aims to knock a website offline by flooding it with web traffic until it can no longer cope and crashes, was the cause of the problem.

Sydney has just entered the year 2016!

The city started its new year celebrations early with a lengthy £3.5million firework display over Sydney Harbour in the hours before crossing the date line.

The Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge were both lit up with the pyrotechnic display that was intended to put Aboriginal traditions at the centre of the party.

At one point an Aboriginal flag was formed out of fireworks along with a red ‘waterfall’ coming from the bridge.
