Ched Evans’s rape conviction is going to be reviewed by the Court of Appeal.
The 26-year-old footballer was convicted of raping a 19-year-old woman at a hotel near Rhyl, in Wales, in 2012.
He was sentenced to five years in prison, but was released last year after serving half.
However the Criminal Cases Review Commission referred his conviction after his lawyers lodged fresh evidence.
The former Sheffield United and Wales forward has always maintained his innocence.
