Climate change group Plane Stupid block tunnel into Heathrow terminals

A protest group have caused traffic chaos at Heathrow by blocking a tunnel the airport terminals.

Activists Plane Stupid say the construction of a third Heathrow runway will cause ‘climate chaos’ and violate David Cameron’s election promise.

They have blocked the main road entrance to the airport since 7.40am with a white van, on which they have draped a flag reading, ‘No Ifs, No Buts: No Third Runway.’

£2.5million worth of heroin found at British ports and airports

Cash totaling £500k and 50kgs of heroin are amongst items seized in UK ports crackdown

A week-long terrorism and organised crime clampdown in British ports and airports has recovered £2.5 million of heroin and £500,000 in cash.

Officials also seized tens of thousands of litres of beer and wine being illegally smuggled into the UK.

The 50kg of Class A drugs were found hidden in the cab of a lorry at Harwick, Essex, while 60,000 litres of beer and 8,000 litres of wine worth £75,000 in lost duty were confiscated from three lorries at Dover, Kent.
