It’s finally snooowing!

Thanks to global warming we had the warmest December since records began, and all hopes of a white Christmas were dashed when we saw this:

However, as soon as we saw snow forecast this week our hopes were raised again.

And it did not disappoint.

Freezing weather turned this car into a giant real life ice sculpture

| blog, L&B World, New York, Weather, Weird | January 12, 2016

It might look like an ornate ice sculpture – but this is an actual car that just got left out in the cold for a little too long.

The car was coated with ice after it was parked near Lake Erie in New York on Monday – in the face of freezing temperatures.

Strong winds pushed waves of icy waters from the lake and onto the car, which then combined with the inclement climes to give the car an unexpectedly frosty makeover.

Bad news, the weather isn’t getting any better towards New Year.

The Met Office have issued alerts warning that severe weather is set to continue.

Conditions – including strong wind and heavy rainfall – are so serious that they’ve officially named the storm Frank.

Storm Frank is the sixth storm of the season, following Abigail, Barney, Clodagh, Desmond and Eva – in that order.

Stormy conditions are expected to return midweek, as the Met Office issue severe gale warnings for Tuesday and heavy rain warnings for Wednesday.

2016 ‘will be hotter’ than 2015 (and 2015 is set to be the hottest year ever recorded)

It’s been a warm year (Picture: Getty Images)

This year is set to be the hottest year ever recorded, says the Met Office – but 2016 might be even hotter.

The latest data suggests that by the end of 2015, UK temperatures will have been 0.72C above the long-term average.

And though it is too early to say with certainty, early indications suggest temperatures in 2016 will be between 0.72C and 0.96C above that number.

It’s going to be a wet and warm, but not white Christmas

Early indications suggest we’re not in for a white Christmas.

Dreams of picture perfect snowy scenes are unlikely, according to the Met Office.

While Monday December 21 is predicted to start out rather promising, a band of heavy and persistent rain is set to come in from the west.

The Met Office advised: ‘The weather is expected to remain unsettled throughout the rest of the week and into the Christmas period, with longer spells of rain across all parts.’

Great.

Season’s greetings.
